Professional Background

Waldo graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2013 with a BA/LLB. He spent two years travelling overseas, including a stint volunteering as a human rights legal intern in Africa, before returning home to New Zealand to commence his legal career. Waldo spent three years working for a commercial litigation firm in Auckland, gaining experience on a range of litigation cases across several industries. Most recently Waldo spent two years working in house as a claims advisor for an international insurance company. There Waldo managed the New Zealand financial lines, casualty and speciality claims portfolio. In 2020 Waldo joined Morgan Coakle’s litigation team.      

Things I enjoy outside work

Outside of work I spend most of my time with family and friends. I am an avid sports fan who enjoys almost anything that involves a ball. I am also partial to pub quizzes.

An interesting fact about me

In high school Waldo was the winner of a regional chess tournament.
