Michelle Mclean - Lawyer

Areas of Specialty

My area of focus is general litigation.  I regularly assist in providing advice on employment matters and professional negligence claims.

Professional Background

I started my working life in sports management. I obtained a Bachelor of Sports Management and worked over a range of sports from managing International events to leading the strategic direction for school sporting programmes.  When my son was older I returned to university to study Law.   I graduated from AUT with LLB (Hons) in 2020 and was admitted to the Bar in October 2020.  I joined Morgan Coakle during my studies as a part-time law clerk and happily accepted a full time position after graduation.

What I enjoy about my work

The culture at Morgan Coakle allows us to always be working to find the best solution for the client in the most clear and pragmatic way.  The challenge of working over a broad range of speciality areas creates a new challenge daily which I enjoy.

What you can expect from me

I will always strive to find solutions that have my client at the centre of the decision making.  I hope to assist in making the process as easy as possible in what is often a daunting time for clients.  As a new lawyer I work to ensure that I find solutions while also learning from the Partners at the firm.

Things I enjoy outside work

Travel (when possible), good food, reading, volunteering at Waka Ama events, spending time with family and friends and taking my two dogs to the beach.
